I did it, because there’s nothing like true love to energize the senses and stimulate the metabolism.
Yes, I’m in love… with this:
Healthy Choice Cafe Steamers!
Why? First, they’ve been on sale at Kroger lately, for just $2 each.
They are freaking delicious.
They come in a dozen flavors.
They’re around 300 calories, low in fat, high in protein, and not overly salted.
But you can’t lose 5 pounds in a week on Cafe Steamers alone. I have a second significant other:
He’s not a bad way to start the morning. I make some after a few hours at work, and it holds me over until about 1:30.
6 g fiber, 5 g protein, 2 servings of whole grains…
I like the Cinnamon flavor, best. Beware of the Maple & Brown Sugar… your office will smell like Aunt Jemima’s cabin, and everyone will think you have a stack of pancakes under your desk.
After work, I sit on the couch and hook the internet into an IV in my arm. When I feel good and ready, I get my shoes on and run for a while, then stop in the park for stretches and exercises. Everyday, without fail, I see an older man in a white T-shirt on a bicycle.
For dinner, a big bowl of Special K.
Good stuff. Unless I go out for dinner, which is about once or twice a week, I’ll follow this menu everyday.
And that’s the new Angela Duncan plan for healthy living… I started the regimen about 3 weeks ago, and feel healthy and motivated. I haven’t lost more than the initial 5 pounds, but can run longer and have more energy during the day. I know it’s important to completely shift my priorities about health, instead of just going nuts for a few weeks and losing momentum. A diet can be whatever you want it to be, and maybe this will help other people get excited about their own.
